BARANG REGIONAL ALLIANCE

The Barang Regional Alliance will lead Empowered Communities for the NSW Central Coast region as the backbone organisation. The word ‘Barang’ means ‘tomorrow’ in the Darkinjung language.

Barang’s vision is to ’empower Aboriginal people through a unified voice’:

• Providing direct access to key government stakeholders via the Empowered Communities (EC) and Local Decision Making (LDM) frameworks
• Promoting local Aboriginal led decisions, accountability and structure
• Retention of Aboriginal culture for the wider community and future generations
