Far West Coast SA became the tenth Empowered Communities region in mid 2020 when local leaders approached Empowered Communities leaders about joining. With a strong history of reform and engagement, community leaders saw that joining Empowered Communities would be the next step in their journey to close the gap on social and economic disparity and drive change based on what their communities want.

Leaders from the regions have formed Far West Community Partnerships to continue this work with Empowered Communities and will hold their official launch on 26th May 2021.
